Join the STEM event of the summer

The UK’s largest celebration of science, technology, engineering, and maths for young people is back – and teachers can book tickets now!

Taking place from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the NEC in Birmingham, the free event is designed to spark curiosity in students aged 10 to 13.

Whether students are STEM lovers or unsure of their next steps, The Big Bang Fair showcases hundreds of amazing careers in STEM. It’s an unmissable opportunity to meet diverse role models, ask questions and discover surprising possibilities.

What to expect at The Fair

The Big Bang Fair is more than just a school trip! It's the perfect place for students to jump into the future, try out new things and see how a career in STEM is for everyone – whatever their interests or passions.

  • hands-on activities – get up close with STEM! Fly planes, prototype designs and come face-to-face with snakes and tarantulas to see how nature inspires engineering
  • meet the experts – real scientists and engineers will be on hand to bring STEM jobs to life through interactive stands and inspiring Q&A panels
  • live shows – get ahead of the crowd and discover never seen before live shows. Created especially for this year’s Fair – you’ll be treated to live experiments, creepy crawlies and more
  • inspiration beyond the classroom – in 2025, 94% of students reported increased knowledge of STEM careers, and 86% of students were motivated to find out more about STEM jobs after attending

Celebrating young people

A big highlight at The Big Bang Fair is our awards ceremony for The Big Bang Competition. We can’t wait to crown the UK Young Engineer of the Year, supported by Thales, UK Young Scientist of the Year, and UK Young Technologist of the Year, supported by Siemens.
